SPECIAL RELATIVITY EXPLAINED TO KIDS

Hey buddy, the concept of special theory of relativity came into light as a proof for Michelson and Morley experiment which was given by Albert Einstein and was explained clearly by Richard Feynman.

Read at your own risk , this concept is not hard to understand rather it is tricky.

First let us understand "MICHELSON AND MORLEY EXPERIMENT"

SITUATION 1

let us assume a situation where there are two people Dholu and Bholu. Dholu is driving a car at speed of 100 km/h and Bholu is standing on the ground . Now suddenly Dholu get's crazy and fires a bullet at a speed of 1000 km/h ,  bholu standing on the ground will notice the bullet speed as 1100 km/h due Newton's relativity.

SITUATION 2

Let us suppose Dholu and Bholu are in space ( don't ask me how?) , this time Dholu is driving a spaceship at half the speed of light (1/2C) and Bholu is floating in space, now dholu switches on the head light of the spaceship (do spaceships have head lights ) but let us assume it has , so the speed of light as measured by bholu who is floating in space is C+1/2C = 1.5C . But this is not right because light always has a constant speed C (C = 299,792,458 m/s).

we know the formula for distance:
Now we got to know that speed of light is constant so distance and time has to be the two variables to maintain the equality .
Now arises two concepts LENGTH CONTRACTION(distance) and TIME DILATION(time) .

TIME DILATION
SITUATION 1:

Now let us take an apparatus which consists of two mirrors separated by a distance h.

the red spot is the light and whenever the red spot strikes the mirror the clock ticks.
So calculating the time = h/c where h is distance between mirror and c is the speed of light

SITUATION 2:

Now let us suppose that the same apparatus is moving at half the speed of light (1/2C)

you can clearly see that light has travelled more distance for you and  the observer inside the apparatus will notice(situation1).
So with respect to u time has slowed down for the observer inside the apparatus that is it has taken more time for the observer inside the apparatus for the same act which you are observing from outside. therefore time goes fast for you and goes slow for the person inside apparatus with respect to you this is "TIME DILATION"
I know you are not with full clarity so go back and read the situation 2 again!

                             LENGTH CONTRACTION

Now let's put the apparatus in a train and let's get Dholu and Bholu back again.
let's say dholu is in the train and bholu is on the platform. so for bholu it takes less time so if it takes less time, to compensate speed = distance/time equation distance should also be less, if distance is less length is less means that length has contracted which eventually leads to "LENGTH CONTRACTION"

by the way the two mirror experiment was demonstrated by Richard Feynman.
So that's all for it buddy, I know it's quite tricky to understand but I think I made my explanation clear.
If you can understand this, your way of viewing nature will entirely change.
